FAQs

Please see below for frequently asked questions regarding Infinite Growth Psychiatry. If your question isn't answered below, please contact Dr. Colón by phone at 734-215-5123 or email at [email protected].

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Dr. Colon is currently accepting new adult patients (ages 18 and above).

If you are looking for a Psychiatrist for children or adolescents (under 18 years of age), I recommend contacting the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor at (734) 764-0231 or Beaumont Psychiatry at (800) 633-7377.

How do I schedule a new patient consultation?

You have two options:

(1) Click here or the "New Patients" button above and enter your contact information into the form to get started.

(2) Call the Infinite Growth Psychiatry office at (734) 215-5123 and leave a message with your full name, age, phone number and a brief description of your current concerns.

Once submitted, Dr. Colon will personally review your information and contact you for a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns and help determine if our clinic is right for you.

Do you accept health insurance? Will my health insurance cover my visit?

Infinite Growth Psychiatry operates on a fee-for-service basis and is considered "out-of-network" for all health insurance plans.

If your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to 80% of the cost of your visits with Dr. Colon. Please contact your insurance company directly to determine your specific coverage. You can easily generate and download a statement called a “superbill” from the patient portal that you can submit to your health insurance company to request reimbursement.

Why are you out-of-network for health insurance?

Infinite Growth Psychiatry strives to provide highly personalized and confidential treatment that goes beyond suppressing symptoms, addresses root causes whenever possible, and helps each patient live their best life. Treatment often involves combining a broad spectrum of treatment approaches such as medication, psychotherapy, physical exercise, therapeutic nutrition, mind-body techniques, life-coaching, and more.

Dr. Colon works collaboratively with his patients to select the best treatment plan, based on the latest scientific evidence, his clinical experience and each patient's preferences regarding their own bodies and minds. This Integrative approach, requires time to truly get to know each patient and allows for mental health care that is customized to your unique needs. Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide such care within the limitations on time and treatments imposed by insurance company administrators.

As an Infinite Growth Psychiatry patient, you will have access to premium features including:

  • Longer appointment times (up to 90 minutes) that allow time for accurate diagnostic assessment, collaborative treatment planning, integrated one-on-one psychotherapy, lifestyle modification, and many other treatments.
  • The ability to schedule appointments more frequently if needed.
  • A convenient online patient portal with secure direct messaging with Dr. Colon, digital prescription requests and online calendar for directly self-scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Convenient automatic online payments by credit card.
  • Mental health diagnoses and treatment notes remain confidential from insurance companies, employers, etc.
  • You will be personally treated by Dr. Colon.
  • No double-booking - your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you

What are your appointment fees?

New Patient Assessment (90-minutes): $525

Return Visit (25-minutes): $225

Return Visit (45-minutes): $325

Return Visit (60-minutes): $400

Are you seeing patients over telehealth?

Yes, currently patients are being seen exclusively via secure and HIPAA-compliant video chat.

Please keep in mind that you will need to be physically located in the State of Michigan for the duration of the appointment.

What is the cancellation/no-show policy?

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Dr. Colon asks that reschedules/cancellations occur with at least 72 hours notice. For all late cancellations and no-shows we will charge the full fee as agreed upon, including for new patient consultations.

How secure is my personal information?

At Infinite Growth Psychiatry, maintaining your privacy is one of our primary concerns. We use an advanced Electronic Medical Records system (IntakeQ) that maintains the highest encryption and data security standards for healthcare information.

What types of mental health conditions are you ABLE to help with?

You can view all of the treatment/services provided on the Services page.

Are there any types of mental health conditions you are NOT able to help with?

The ideal management of certain mental health conditions requires an interdisciplinary care team (e.g. Psychiatric subspecialists, case managers, social workers, psychologists, etc.). Infinite Growth Psychiatry is a small private clinic, and may not be the appropriate treatment setting to provide adequate care for patients who have challenges that involve, require, or include:

  • Supervision of other healthcare professionals.
  • Court-related testimony, paperwork or mandated treatment.
  • Treatment of minors (under 18 years of age).
  • Severe Bipolar Disorder.
  • Schizophrenia.
  • Eating disorders.
  • Dementia.
